Welcome to Pathways & Postcards!
My name is Amy Urquhart, and I’m 47-year-old Canadian, married and a mother to a wonderful teenage son. I’ve been writing online over the years in a few different places ever since 2000, as a way to express myself and collaborate with other writers on a variety of topcis. I’ve been a travel advisor since 2017, and I’m happy to say that business has rebounded exceptionally well since the pandemic shut the world down in 2020.
In 2018, I joined a wonderful boutique agency, where I help families plan magical vacations to destinations such as Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort. Travel has always been the thing that lights me up inside. I’m happiest when I’m seeing a new place for the very first time.
Why “Pathways & Postcards?”
I think it’s a charming title for a travel blog, and I wanted to suggest a journey through both actual and metaphorical paths. After all, shouldn’t travel writing capture personal stories and moments, while taking the scenic route?
I hope this blog will be a place where I can share an intimate view of the places I’ll visit. It will be about exploration, food, wine, sightseeing, sailing and more. I invite you to join me on this journey of discovery and personal connection.
Thank you for reading!
